Dr. Deborah Geering-Fend, O.D.

Dr. Geering-Fend was born in Dayton, OH where she spent part of her childhood, as well as in Kansas and Iowa. After graduating from high school, she worked as an optician for about 10 years. In 1985 she moved to Southern California to continue her education! She received a Bachelor of Visual Science in 1993 and in 1995 received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. After working several years, in June 2007 she opened her own optometry office in Torrance, CA which became Coastal Vision Center, A Professional Optometry Corporation in 2013. From 2007-2002 she was a visiting optometrist in the remote town of Petersburg, Alaska where she provided eye care for the Alaska Natives and town residents.

Dr. Geering-Fend served as a board member of the South Bay Optometric Society from 2002-2019, and as president from 2008-2010. She is currently the 2nd Vice President of the South Bay Lions Club. She and her husband have a son and she further enjoys walking at the beach, bicycling, camping, hiking mountains, skiing, and traveling.
